The Round Church is one of only four medieval round churches still in use in England. Inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, its Norman architecture includes a circular nave, thick stone columns, and round arches that transport you back to the 12th century. History and General Information

Built by the Fraternity of the Holy Sepulchre, the church served as a chapel for pilgrims and travelers. In the 13th century, it became part of the parish system under Barnwell Priory. The church was expanded in the 15th century with Gothic additions, and later restored in the 19th century by renowned architect Anthony Salvin. Today, while no longer used for regular worship, it operates as a visitor centre managed by Christian Heritage, offering educational exhibitions about the church’s history and Cambridge’s Christian roots.
