About The Lab
Despite the theatrical vibe, the focus here is very much on quality cocktails. The menu is a rotating experiment of flavour profiles and clever names, with classics always available on request. Expect the unexpected: smoky infusions, house-made syrups, and beautifully presented drinks in beakers and flasks. Most cocktails range from £10–£13, and while you’re paying for the flair, the execution backs it up – these aren’t just gimmicks, they’re genuinely well-balanced, creative drinks.
The space itself is cosy but stylish, with a grown-up atmosphere that makes it ideal for dates or quieter nights out. It doesn’t get overly rowdy, even on weekends, and the music tends to stay background-level. There’s no food served, so it’s best as a pre- or post-dinner stop – or even as a dedicated destination if cocktails are the main event.
The staff know their stuff, and if you’re into mixology or just curious, they’re happy to talk you through the drinks or recommend something based on what you like. That personal touch adds to the bar’s charm.
The Lab is a little tucked away, but for those who find it, it’s one of the more intriguing and intimate spots in Cambridge. Equal parts stylish and offbeat, it’s a great option for cocktail lovers looking for something out of the ordinary.
